Director accused of sexually assaulting actresses

Joseph Brooks, who won an Oscar
for Best Original Song 'You Light Up My Life' in 1977,
is being investigated after at least four women accused him
of sexually assaulting them,
after luring them to his home for auditioning for a role in films.

It seems Brooks, in a ploy to attract women, advertised various
upcoming film roles on the Internet, telling women who responded to the ads,
they would be playing the role of a prostitute,
even as he forced them to drink shots and perform sex acts on him.

Some of them believe they could have been drugged,
with one woman saying she had sex with Brooks after drinking wine with him.
The four incidents alleged to have occurred between March and May 2008,
reveal that a Seattle woman after responding to the ad.
And arriving in New York , was asked to have sex with him,
while another claims that he sodomised her.

So far, no charges have been laid against Brooks, 70,
who not only wrote and directed the romantic comedy 'You Light Up My Life',
about a comedian (Didi Conn), who has a one-night stand with a director,
as she dreams of nothing but to be an actress.
He also also composed the song by the same name for the film.
